It is 5 years today
when my feet left this soil
My hands missed the touch of these harvest fields
My heart lurched for warm hugs of my family
And I have just 5 days to absorb this tranquility of my home
The cuddles of my little one when I recite to her good night stories
The warmth of my beloved when she feeds me her savoury cooked meal
The welcome of my friends who reminisce our childhood, share the trivia of the life.
Soon, I will pack these memories into my heart
enveloping it on with the proud Khaki to safeguard the soil that is home to all of us.
