FAMILIAR LANE ---I walked to the familiar lane
to the place where we met
time and again
watching the morning sunrise
that glowed on your ruffled hair
listening to soothing rhythm of the breeze
that tickled our cheeks together
I walked further down
towards the shore barefeet
holding the timeless sand in my palms
glancing at the anxious pebbles
who enquired about you.
I walked closer to the gushing waters
that caressed our feet
splashing coy winks at us
I dropped in a paperboat with a
message for you asking the waters
to safely hand it over to the beautiful shorebird
staying at the other shore where
you, my love, sail on your ship
cruising for eons until we meet again
here at this familiar lane....
