He plays the tanpura tuning the chords 
during this pleasant afternoon 
as the warmth sits on the carpet
he voices a old classic tale along with it 
moving the ambiance to the historic era
the lifeless sages, courtesans come alive 
as the rhythms wake them from their sleep
he ferries us  through the royal banquet
the battle and the courtyard 
with his verses in the symphony of the dynasty
