All assemble at once
Standing together in teams
Pledging to fight against all odds
They shout out in chorus
And disperse to get ready for the moment
The clock strikes; a minute later,
Gun shots, explosions are heard
Smoke engulfs the sky to grey
Distress and panic felt and seen around
But the team courageously marches ahead
Next day, the front headlines states
Bravo team, well done;danger conquered, safety is
intact
Two days later, they are forgotten
But the team do their duty as usual
As others are fast asleep
Letters and distant calls from family is the only
acknowledgement they receive
The odds are many, lack of support is one
Revered by others on the day which gave them their
freedom.
