NAPOWRIMO- Midnight Lullabies

She curled and winced
Her feeble cry could hardly be heard
Only a soft echo reached the walls
Sweet little baby wailed again
Her cheeks turning pink
And eyes tired with the burden of tears.
No one attended her, not even sighted a glance

Ignorant people too busy into their own
Then a soothing voice was heard
some ancient lullaby was recited aloud
In this cold midnight, the sweet little baby cooed to each verse
cuddling to her comforter of rhymes
she slept off peacefully
absorbing the lyrical potion dedicated to her
the lullaby was heard even from a far distance
But the singer remained plainly invisible.
